Vivienne Campbell

Lecture title: Alive and well: Traditional Plant Medicine in Ireland

 

Originally from one of the Scottish islands, Vivienne is based in County Clare, Ireland. She trained to be a Medical Herbalist on a degree course in Lancashire (UK) run by the National Institute of Medical Herbalists. She qualified in 2003 and moved to County Clare. She ran a busy clinic in Ennis for a number of years.

 


Dr.Wendy Maddocks Jennings

Lecture title: "Good gargling" - managing oral conditions using essential oils

 

Wendy has been involved in health care, education and complementary health for over 25 years and is New Zealand's only health professional with a research doctorate exploring complementary therapies in health care. Her innovative research into using essential oils in the management of radiation mucositis provided the background to developing the range of skin care.

 


Professor Juergen Reichling

 

Lecture title: Essential oils as phyto-antiviral agents used in aromatherapy

 

Professor Reichling was born in Heidelberg in 1943. From 1966 to 1971 he studied biology, chemistry and physics at the University of Heidelberg. In 1972 he received his doctorate in biology (Dr. rer. nat.) at the same University. Since 1975 He has worked as a scientist at the University of Heidelberg.

•Foster international exchanges of research and clinical information
•Set the scene for ongoing collaboration between practitioners and researchers to ultimately improve health, well being and quality of life.
Botanica2012 is hosted and organised by Rhiannon Harris of Essential Oil Resource Consultants: suppliers of education, research and information in the field of essential oils. Rhiannon is also editor of the International Journal of Clinical Aromatherapy.
